The Porchville Stringband speelt bluegrass: akoestisch, rauw en zonder franje. Ongepolijste verhalen over liefde, verlangen en verlies, gedragen door stemmen die overtuigen en instrumenten die strijden. Van kwetsbaar en intiem tot uitbundig en opzwepend, vaak binnen dezelfde song.
De kracht schuilt in de spanning tussen de twee vocals, een samenspel dat de verhalen achter de songs tastbaar maakt. De mandoline vonkt, de gitaar duwt, de banjo kleurt en de viool snijdt tot op het bot. De contrabas stuwt en houdt alles bij elkaar.

The power lies in the tension between the two vocals, an interplay that brings the stories behind the songs to life. The mandolin sparks, the guitar pushes, the banjo colors and the fiddle cuts to the bone. The bass drives and holds it all together.
