Asian Moms Meetups by Onni
Gastprogrammering
On December 10th Onni welcomes you for the last time this year in the cozy living room setting from Studio de Bakkerij.
This meetups theme is racism. Our children are growing up in a multicultural society, in which they might experience biases, raise questions about identities and encounter moments that make them feel different. As parents, we have the opportunity to guide them through these questions and moments with confidence and compassion. We can reflect on how our own experiences have shaped us and the values in our cultures that can help respond to racism. We can explore together what these discussions can entail for children at different ages and which practices would be useful in nurturing emotional resilience, such as story-telling, role play, or family rituals.
Our special guest is Jillian Emanuels from De Instant Pedagoog [https://jillianemanuels.nl]. Jillian offers advices to parents and professionals on dealing with discrimination and provides trainings on antiracist upbringing. The goal is not to look for the right or the perfect answer, but to get connected and to learn from one another in a growing and supportive community.
